Samsung enthusiasts were initially thrilled about the potential for a significant camera upgrade in the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6. However, recent leaks suggest a more modest improvement in the camera modules for the foldable phone this year.
According to GalaxyClub, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is expected to retain a 50MP main rear camera, the same megapixel rating as its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5. This contradicts earlier rumors of a 200MP main camera, similar to the one in the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.
While the 50MP main camera is said to match the one in the Samsung Galaxy S24, it represents an upgrade in terms of capture capabilities compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 5, even though the megapixel rating remains the same.
The uncertainty surrounding the camera specifications suggests that Samsung may still be deliberating on the features of the Galaxy Z Fold 6. With approximately five months before its anticipated launch, there is room for speculation and potential changes.
GalaxyClub does not entirely dismiss the possibility of a 200MP camera, but it indicates that a 50MP camera is more probable. Additionally, it is predicted that the other cameras on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will align with those of the 2023 model.
While minimal camera upgrades on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 may disappoint some, it could be a compromise that many are willing to accept if it helps maintain the phone’s affordability. Moreover, rumors of a more budget-friendly version of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 have also surfaced, generating further interest in Samsung’s upcoming releases, including the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6.
