New Leak: Lenovo’s future tablet

Lenovo appears to be delving into the realm of mad science with the potential release of the Tab P12 Matte Display tablet, a device that merges various features, including a screen with a matte paper-like quality commonly found in e-readers. This unique offering from Lenovo is poised to revolutionize the e-reading experience on a tablet.

The Tab P12 Matte Display is reported to boast a 12.7-inch LCD screen with a 3K resolution of 2944 x 1840 pixels. While this resolution is impressive, leaked images suggest that the colors may appear muted compared to those on OLED tablets. Nevertheless, the device is equipped with an anti-glare coating, ensuring clear visibility even in direct sunlight, and its paper-like display is designed to be easy on the eyes, making it a potential contender as a work tablet.

The leaked images depict the Tab P12 Matte Display being used primarily for content creation, with support for multiple Lenovo accessories such as the P12 Keyboard Pack, Folio Case, and Tab Pen Plus. This combination, along with the unique screen, is said to transform the tablet into a natural note-taking machine.

In terms of specifications, the Tab P12 is expected to offer a 16:10 aspect ratio, a Quad JBL speaker array certified for Dolby Atmos, and will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7050 chipset with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, expandable up to 1TB with SD card support. While not designed for gaming due to its 60Hz refresh rate and moderate hardware configuration, the tablet is anticipated to excel in work tasks and media consumption.

Additional features of the Tab P12 include a 13MP front camera with AI tracking, a nine-hour battery life, and a fingerprint sensor for security. It is set to run on Android 13 at launch with four years of security updates.

As for its release date and pricing, no official information has been disclosed. However, speculations suggest that the tablet could be priced similarly to the current Tab P12 model, which starts at $270. It’s important to approach this information with caution, as details from leaks are subject to change.
