NEC has introduced its latest tablet, the LAVIE Tab T14, designed specifically for the Japanese market. Powered by Android 13, this tablet is equipped with a 14.5-inch organic EL display featuring an impressive 3000×1876 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.

Described as a creative powerhouse by NEC, the LAVIE Tab T14 is ideal for tasks such as video editing and creating illustrations. Its “One Vision” UI supports multitasking with floating windows and screen splitting, providing a seamless user experience. Additionally, the tablet can function as a second monitor for a PC or another tablet. The device is powered by an 8-core MediaTek Dimensity 9000 processor, complemented by 12GB of memory and 256GB of storage.

The LAVIE Tab T14 delivers an immersive audio experience with its eight JBL Dolby Atmos compatible speakers, ensuring high-quality sound from all around the tablet.

The tablet also offers optional extras, including a 13-megapixel front camera, a 13-megapixel rear camera, and a 5-megapixel wide-angle rear shooter. It provides biometric authentication through facial recognition and fingerprint scanning and features two USB Type-C ports supporting DP-In/DP-Out for external input/output.

For users seeking enhanced functionality, NEC offers the Digital Pen 2, compatible with 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity, tilt sensor, and palm rejection. This pen includes a lost alarm function to prevent misplacement and can be conveniently charged by attaching it to the back of the tablet with a magnet. Additional optional extras include a removable keyboard with shortcuts and touchpad gestures, a kickstand, and a tablet cover.

The LAVIE Tab T14 is scheduled for release on February 15, with a price tag of ¥142,780 ($950.91).

In addition to the LAVIE Tab T14, NEC has also introduced a smaller version, the LAVIE Tab T9, featuring an 8.8-inch screen with a resolution of 2560×1600 and two Dolby Atmos compatible speakers. This model is priced at 98,780 yen ($657.87).
